Oh Canada!

Celebrating Canada Day with a delicious “Dirty” Burger

Regardless of whether you are a Trailer Park Boys fan, you are sure to love these burgers. The recipe is simple and can easily be adapted to play with your favorite flavors.

Dirty Burgers

Makes 8 decent sized burgers

1 lb. BBQ pulled pork or chicken

1 lb. ground chuck 80/20 (using lean mean with cause the burgers to crumble)

4 pieces of bacon, chopped

1 egg

1 med. sweet onion, chopped

2 cloves of garlic, minced

a healthy squirt of maple syrup

paprika, salt & pepper to taste

BBQ sauce – you can use any quality sticky and sweet sauce, but my absolute favorite hands down is Rufus Teague’s Whiskey Maple

Combine everything but the sauce in a bowl. Depending on the type of pulled pork you use, you may want to add a little barbecue sauce to the mix, but not so much that they won’t form nice patties. After I shape my burgers, I let them chill for about an hour. When you’re ready, brush some sauce on these babies and get them on the grill. That easy.

Soooo good, eh?!
