Afternoon Tea

My girlfriend had been out of state for several months and wanted to host an intimate, relaxed gathering to reconnect with friends after returning home. She loved my suggestion of a playful afternoon tea.

Fresh-baked tea biscuits

Fancy finger sandwiches, savory biscuits, and pastries were served with tea pairings. (Here is the full menu I designed: Tea_Menu).

Bubbly Lemonade with Fresh Blackberries

I made soy-based non-toxic candles in an assortment of fancy teacups as party favors for the guests. The teabag-shaped thank you tag was an adorable touch.

Limoonada Recipe

Limoonada Recipe

Limoonada is a version of lemonade from the Middle East. The notable differences are that it is refreshingly less sweet and includes the seductive addition of orange blossom water that will leave your guests begging for more.

Limoonada recipe

Literally everyone who tried the limoonada at our Arabian Nights party raved about it. (I also loved the spelling li-MOON-ada, since we were under the full moon, but I digress).

orange blossom water recipe

This is the orange blossom water that I use. You can get it here on Amazon.

As always, I encourage you to use organic when you can. Your body and your palette are worth it!

  • 4 – 5 whole lemons
  • 6 c. cold water
  • 1/3 c. cane sugar (or honey)
  • 1 T orange blossom water

1. Juice the lemons. Save a few slices or halves to put in the pitcher for flavor and visual appeal.

2. Pour in the water and sugar and stir well until sugar is mostly dissolved. Add more lemon juice or sugar to taste, if desired.

3. Chill at least overnight.

4. Stir before serving.

Welcome to My Blog

Welcome to the Soiree blog! I am excited to write about events, parties, and entertaining. My goal is to share recipes, DIY projects, tips and tricks from my garden, kitchen, and studio at Soiree and beyond!

I pour a lot of time, energy, and love into my event coordination services. My goal is to create memorable and meaningful celebrations for each of my clients. In doing that, I engage in many different projects (and experiments) that I want to share with you!

Whenever I am planning a party I have the most fun in the conceptual phase, but where the creative process really gets interesting is when I am working in the studio. I will be sharing my processes, favorite trends, and DIY instructions on everything from invitations to decor to party favors. I also hope to offer free downloadable and printable content in the future, and of course, will pass along any sweet deals I come across.

Of course, you can’t have a party without great food so I’ll share experiences from the “test kitchen”, themed menus, delicious recipes, crafty beverages, cooking tips and more.

I am truly excited to share my experiences with you!

Love, light, + laughter,
